The singer TAEYANG has raised the anticipation for his first studio album in nine years to its peak by unveiling a trailer video with the look of a real film.

On May 4, his agency THE BLACK LABEL posted the trailer for his 4th studio album titled “QUINTESSENCE” on its official social media.
The video immediately captures the eye with its embossed and grandiose visuals, depicting the emergence of a civilization and the panoramas of a monumental futuristic city. The mysterious staging is particularly striking: a huge crowd gathers to form the letter “Q” (the initial of the new opus), while two angels floating in the sky also shape this same “Q” by enveloping the clouds. These elements strongly stimulate curiosity about the musical “quintessence” that TAEYANG wishes to present in this album.
This new opus, which will be officially released on May 18 at 6 p.m. KST, marks a very significant step in the artist’s musical journey. It is his return three years after his second EP album “DOWN TO EARTH” published in April 2023, but especially his first studio album since “WHITE NIGHT” in 2017, an intermediate wait of nine years.
As this album was carefully crafted over a long period, TAEYANG plans to demonstrate all his power as a limitless “all-rounder” solo artist, by revealing to the public an even deeper musical universe.
TAEYANG is currently multiplying global activities, alternating between his solo career and his group activities. After successfully completing a fan-meeting tour in seven Asian cities in the second half of last year, he ignited music fans around the world last month by taking the stage as a headliner of the “Coachella” festival in the United States alongside the members of BIGBANG.
As he has just proven once again his immense international influence, the music industry has its eyes fixed on the future accomplishments of this solo comeback.
