The new boy group EMOTI:M has revealed for the first time the faces of its members which were shrouded in mystery, thus starting its true countdown before its debut.

According to the agency DNA ENTERTAINMENT on May 16, EMOTI:M attracts all the attention of global fans after announcing its launch last May 1 by publishing a teaser image where the faces were hidden by emoticon balloons. The group aroused the keen interest of the public with only four contents, notably a back teaser published without revealing the faces, as well as challenge videos made while wearing masks, such as the “Red red” challenge by CORTIS, “Velocidade” by SANTOS BRAVOS, “2.0” by BTS and “It’s me” by ILLIT.

In particular, although it is a period preceding their official debut, they obtain exceptional reactions: they have exceeded 370,000 followers on TikTok and the cumulative number of “Likes” has crossed the 20 million mark.

According to the agency, EMOTI:M is composed of talented members who master not only vocals and performance, but also possess skills in playing instruments as well as in writing and composing. The team is a group of 5 members in total, including the Korean members CHAN YUL (born in 2007), JU HYUN (born in 2003), JIN WON (born in 2007), the Japanese member REI (born in 2003) and YEONG HO (born in 2005) from Hong Kong.

CHAN YUL is from the JTBC audition program “PROJECT 7” and is a member endowed with exceptional skills in vocals and performance. JU HYUN is from the group “지동지하” of the Seoul University of Arts and Sciences; he combines writing and composing talents in addition to playing the guitar, bass, and drums. JIN WON is a student in the K-pop department of Dongseoul University and holds the position of main dancer within the team.
The Japanese member REI has fluid dance lines as his strong point, and YEONG HO, from Hong Kong, is a personality having been active locally as an influencer dancer. He is known as a hardworking member who trained consistently by making round trips between Korea and Hong Kong in order to make his debut as a K-pop idol.

EMOTI:M is a team that highlights “connection” as its core concept. The group name is moreover a name created by combining “EMOTION” (emotion) and “MUSIC” (musique), and contains the meaning of encouraging and consoling each other through music, so that you and I, who find ourselves in different worlds, are connected to become one.
EMOTI:M, which gathers the interest of the global fandom even before its official debut, plans to make its debut next July.
