CORTIS
The boy group CORTIS has reached a new record.

According to the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify, the number of monthly listeners for CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhoon, Seunghyeon, Keonho) as of May 23 was counted at 12,045,984 people. This corresponds to the “Top 3” based on the highest figures of K-pop boy groups in history, such as BTS.
The number of monthly listeners on Spotify refers to the number of users who played the music of the artist concerned over the past 28 days. Counting individuals excluding cumulative plays, it is considered a key indicator that shows the actual size of the fandom and recognition. CORTIS saw this figure increase explosively after the reveal of the title song “Redred” from their second mini-album on the 20th of last month. On the day of the song’s release alone, this figure increased by about 200,000 to reach about 7.1 million people, and jumped by more than 70% in one month thereafter.
CORTIS is the first among boy groups that debuted in the last 5 years to enter Spotify’s global daily and weekly charts, and has maintained its place on the chart for more than a month. The title song “Redred” is the main actor in this. The highest ranking in the “Daily Top Songs Global” is 36th place recorded as of the past 4th. As of May 23, it is in 1st place on Spotify’s “Daily Top Songs Korea” and Apple Music’s “Today’s Top 100: Korea” for 26 and 29 days respectively. In Melon’s daily chart, it occupied the top for 5 consecutive days (from the 19th to the 23rd). In addition, it added trophies on May 23 on MBC’s “Show Music Core” and on the 24th on SBS’s “Inkigayo”. After previously achieving a grand slam on domestic music shows, it now totals 9 wins.
The second mini-album receives equal love not only for its title song but also for its b-side tracks. CORTIS presented the performances of the b-side tracks from its second mini-album “Acai” and “Youngcreatorcrew” on May 24 on “Inkigayo”. In particular, “Youngcreatorcrew” draws attention with an addictive sound and witty lyrics. It reached a maximum of 18th place (on the 19th) on Spotify’s “Daily Top Songs Korea” and a maximum of 4th place (from the 11th to the 14th, etc.) on Apple Music’s “Today’s Top 100: Korea”.
This song contains the thoughts of the five members on the representative qualifier of CORTIS, “Young Creator Crew”. It is the expression that best shows the identity of the team that co-creates the music, choreography, and videos, but it expresses the feeling of not wanting to be defined by a single word. Unique lyrics such as “웃거버려서” and “요를레이히” show the raw texture as it is.
