The band ONEWE has revealed the highlight medley of its second single.
ONEWE (Yonghoon, Kanghyun, Harin, Dongmyeong, Giuk) published on the past 24th the highlight medley of its second single “點 : THE QUIVER” on its official YouTube channel, making the hearts of fans race.
In the video, illustrations similar to a fairy tale were inserted, containing objects that express the vibe of each track, such as a compass or wings.
The b-side track “Coordinates” contains a fateful encounter that approaches toward a single coordinate. “Compass” is a song that ultimately moves forward toward a single direction despite crossed destinies. “Fly” sings the wish for someone to remember oneself.
The title song “Icarus” is based on a lyrical alternative rock sound and reinterprets the image of Icarus in Greek mythology through ONEWE‘s own perspective. The guitar sound that expands explosively as it moves toward the end of the song and the layered refrain leave a deep lingering impression.
The second single “點 : THE QUIVER” is a single that announces the beginning of the point, line, plane series that ONEWE is newly developing. The tense quiver of the tip of the compass needle searching for coordinates and the subtle thrill of the moment facing an unknown world that has not yet been named are melted into the whole single. It draws the starting point of a new musical journey by expressing the emotions oscillating on the border between excitement and fear through a fairy tale narrative unique to ONEWE.
Just like previous works, the members inscribed their names equally in the credits of all songs, reinforcing even more the musical identity unique to ONEWE. The member KANGHYUN took charge of the lyric writing and composition of the title song “Icarus” and of “Coordinates”, while DONGMYEONG participated in the lyric writing and composition of “Fly”. In the midst of this, GIUK led the work on all the b-side tracks.
