The group QUEENZ EYE has raised the “Y2K” fervor with an unrestrained energy.
QUEENZ EYE (Wonchae, Ahyoon, Kiirii, Seovin, Jinyul, Seoha) revealed on May 25, through their official SNS, the music video teaser for the title song “Y2k” from their second mini-album “PRISM EP.02”.
The video, which began with a retro keyboard sound, immediately invoked the sensibility of the early 2000s through the screen of a cell phone where the message “Queenz Eye” was typed. QUEENZ EYE exuded a free-spirited energy while going back and forth between the street, a record store, and a space recalling a waiting room. The members completed the Y2K vibe with colorful styling and a confident attitude, raising expectations around the concept of the new song with a visual that is both hip and witty.
At the end of the teaser, alongside a short memorable excerpt of the title song “Y2k”, the appearance of the members striking a pose with the sign “QUEENZ EYE” in the background left an intense impression. The free attitude of the members and the retro sound vibe locked together, announcing the addictiveness and iconic charm of the new song with just a short teaser.
The second mini-album “PRISM EP.02” of QUEENZ EYE is an album that contains the second splendid momentum of QUEENZ EYE, filled with an energetic charm. It is planned to present an even more varied musical direction by adding a pop musical style to the powerful color of the group which is the identity of the team.
The title song “Y2k” is a pop anthem filled with a pleasant nostalgia, which immediately takes one to the confusing but splendid moment of the early 2000s that sparkled from the instant of listening. While recreating the sound and vibe of the Y2K pop era on the basis of a production reviving the sensibility of that time, an addictive melody, and witty textual homages, it added the refined sense of today to it.
In addition, from “Lbd” (Little Black Dress), a dance-pop genre containing an alluring attitude filled with self-confidence, to “This is love” presented in a new version, are included therein, planning to contain the even more varied vocals and musical growth of QUEENZ EYE.
