HYOLYN returns with a new mini-album highlighting her own identity.
Through the tracklist of her fourth mini-album “ORIGINALYN”, she announces a confident energy and an honest message, thus accelerating her preparations for a serious comeback.
On July 12 at 6 p.m. KST, her agency Reh Entertainment published the image of the tracklist for “ORIGINALYN” on its official SNS. With this album scheduled to be released on July 22 at 6 p.m. KST via various music sites, interest is focused on HYOLYN‘s new step targeting the summer.
According to the unveiled tracklist, this 4th mini-album contains a total of 7 songs, including the title song “Check”, “Offline”, “Shotty”, “맛있게드세요”, “What u like”, “You and I” and “Standing on the edge”. With a configuration announcing different titles and atmospheres for each track, she has gathered HYOLYN‘s diverse musical textures within a single album.
The outstanding point of this work is the great participation of HYOLYN. She entered her name in the writing and composition of “Check”, “Offline”, “Shotty”, “맛있게드세요” and “You and I”, and also participated in the writing of “Standing on the edge”, embarking on the production of all songs. Through this, she directly drew her own musical color and identity throughout the album.
HYOLYN‘s direction is condensed in the album name “ORIGINALYN”. This title, combining “Original” and a part of HYOLYN‘s name, “Lyn”, is a name that reveals her desire to contain HYOLYN‘s unique music and identity that no one else can replace. It is explained that this is a work containing a free and honest energy, as well as colors and scents that only HYOLYN can express, placing itself as an album that looks back on the image she wished to project of herself.
The title song “Check” constitutes the central axis of this project. It is a track that captures the moment of checking with confidence the looks and feelings directed toward oneself, to which a trendy beat, an addictive hook, and a sensory sound are added. HYOLYN‘s unique powerful yet relaxed vocals are superimposed on it, forming a guideline full of confidence.
HYOLYN previously shared her thoughts on the album in an interview video. To the question “Why is the album called “OriginaLyn”?”, she explained: “I would like it to be an album that can show the most original and essential side of the singer HYOLYN.” Concerning the title song “Check”, she confided: ““Check” is above all a story I address to myself. It is a story I tell myself, but I worked on it with the hope that it could give strength to many people who, like me, need confidence and assurance”, highlighting the message contained in the song.
This 4th mini-album is also a work that expresses, in its own way, a 2026 version Y2K pop sensibility based on the path traveled by HYOLYN. The free and honest energy she spoke of will be concretized through all the recorded songs and performances, foreshadowing the vibe that listeners will feel during the summer season.
