STRAY KIDS
The K-pop group STRAY KIDS has recorded 1st place on the main American Billboard album chart, the Billboard 200, for the 9th time in total. It is a major record following that of THE BEATLES.
According to a chart announcement article published by Billboard on August 16 (local time), STRAY KIDS‘ new album, “THIS & THAT”, rose to the top of the Billboard 200 dated the 22nd.
STRAY KIDS established a major record by ranking No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the 9th consecutive time, starting with “ODDINARY” released in 2022. This is the best performance for a K-pop group in history and the highest number of records recorded among all groups that debuted after the 2000s.
The artist with the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 of all time is the legendary British band THE BEATLES (19 times). STRAY KIDS now rises alongside them by standing shoulder to shoulder with another British group, THE ROLLING STONES (9 times).
Meanwhile, “THIS & THAT” contains a boldness that cannot be confined to any framework and a free energy. With this new album, the group recorded 3,289,269 copies sold in its first week (album sales volume for one week starting from the release date).
