SEVENTEEN - VERNON
VERNON from the group SEVENTEEN enters the training center this August 20 to fulfill his military duty.

VERNON will enter the training center this afternoon to receive basic military training, before performing his alternative service as a social service agent.
Holding dual nationality through his Korean father and American mother, VERNON made the decision to fulfill his military duty in South Korea. Previously, his agency PLEDIS Entertainment had announced the news of VERNON‘s enlistment by stating: “In order for VERNON to sincerely fulfill his military duty and return in better health, we ask for the unwavering love and support of all of you, CARAT.”
On the very day of his enlistment, VERNON addresses his greetings to his fans by releasing the new song “I’ll be back” at 6 p.m. KST. “I’ll be back” is an electronic track highlighting a pop sensibility, which had drawn enthusiastic reactions after first being revealed during a live performance at the “2026 VERNON THE 8 ‘V8’ LIVE” last July. VERNON participated in writing the lyrics and composing this new track, instilling his sincere message toward his fans into a lyrical track.
VERNON debuted as part of SEVENTEEN in May 2015 and pursued rich musical activities. He was promoted to a permanent member of the Korea Music Copyright Association in 2024, and last year joined the voting members of the Recording Academy, participating in the selection of winners for the “GRAMMY AWARDS”, the most prestigious music awards ceremony in the United States.
