Group BLACKPINK has set a new record in the history of kpop.

BLACKPINK’s “Boombayah” MV exceeded 800 million views on YouTube earlier today, according to its agency YG Entertainment.
“Boombaya” marks the debut of BLACKPINK with “Whistle“. The powerful drum beat and unique synth sound are impressive. In particular, the chorus of “Oppa” evokes a strong dependence.
It is the first time among kpop groups that BLACKPINK has two MV with more than 800 million views. BLACKPINK previously achieved this record with “Ddu-du ddu-du“. The clip garnered 1 billion views, becoming the first kpop group to have a clip with the highest number of views ever recorded.
In addition, the video for “Kill this love” and “As if it’s your last” easily surpassed 700 million views, bringing the 800 million views to the horizon. The group also has a total of eight music videos released since its inception, as well as a total of 18 videos with over 100 million views, including choreography videos and music shows.
