“Sparkle”, reborn in a new way with ROY KIM‘s sensibility, finally lifts the veil.

“Sparkle”, performed by ROY KIM, will be unveiled today at 6 p.m. KST on various online music sites. By adding ROY KIM‘s signature warm and deep vocal timbre to the overflowing emotion of the original track, it is expected to present another new “Sparkle”.
Ahead of the release, ROY KIM uploaded a video on September 10 on the official YouTube channel allowing fans to preview “Sparkle” through the “Let’s sing in advance” content. Appearing in comfortable attire with his studio as the backdrop, ROY KIM performed “Sparkle” with smooth vocals before its release, conveying the atmosphere of the track in an even deeper way. The pre-released video infused with ROY KIM‘s own sensibility further heightened expectations for the official version.
A handwritten message of encouragement from actress SEO SU MIN, who plays the female lead in the music video, was also revealed on September 10 on official social media, drawing attention. In the previously released music video teaser, SEO SU MIN formed a duo with CHA JUN HWAN, delicately expressing feelings ranging from the excitement of refreshing youth to deepened emotions, raising anticipation for the full music video.

SEO SU MIN revealed her affection for the work by conveying a sincere message: “I was happy to be able to be with Sparkle,” and added: “I hope the sparkling moments of the viewers watching the music video will remain etched in their memories for a long time.”
In this remake, ROY KIM delicately portrayed the emotional line of the track with a voice both calm and filled with magnetic appeal. From the introduction that begins peacefully to the dramatic development that builds toward the second half, ROY KIM‘s warm timbre and delicate expressive capability combine to deliver a deep resonance distinct from the original.

In particular, this track adds significance as lyricist LEE SEU RAN, who has worked on numerous hit songs, and ROY KIM directly participated in writing the Korean lyrics. While preserving the feelings of youth, love, and fateful encounter carried by the original track, they completed a new “Sparkle” by integrating the delicate sensibility unique to the Korean language and ROY KIM‘s musical colors.
“Sparkle” is a song performed by the Japanese band RADWIMPS, one of the representative original soundtracks for the animated film “YOUR NAME.” released in 2016. It is a song that maximized the feelings of youth, love, longing, and fateful encounter within the work, consistently loved in Korea and abroad.
The music video unveiled alongside the track is also drawing attention. Figure skater and actor CHA JUN HWAN as well as actress SEO SU MIN appear as the main characters, depicting the story of a refreshing youth exchanging feelings through notes slipped between books, set in a bookstore with a warm atmosphere.
In particular, CHA JUN HWAN and SEO SU MIN completed an atmosphere worthy of a youth film by expressing the moments when their hearts gradually turn toward each other solely through their gazes, expressions, and subtle gestures. At the end of the previously released teaser, as SEO SU MIN appeared smiling with tear-filled eyes, attention is also focused on the full music video to find out what story will unfold between the two.
Meanwhile, “Sparkle”, the fourth track of the “J-POP REMAKE” project in which ROY KIM participated, will be released today at 6 p.m. KST on various online music sites, and the full music video starring CHA JUN HWAN and SEO SU MIN will also be unveiled at the same time.
