Law firm Namgang Jung Ji-seok, lawyer for brothers Lee Seok Cheol and Lee Seung Hyun, said on June 12th, “The Bangbae Police Station in Seoul is investigating the cases in which victims have prosecuted the Media Line president Kim Chang Hwan, CEO Lee Jung Hyun and former PD Moon Young Il, charged former members of THE EAST LIGHT, LEE EUN SUNG and JUNG SA GANG with perjury on May 7th“.
“The victims sued Moon Young Il, Kim Chang Hwan, Lee Jung Hyun and LEE EUN SUNG for perjury in September of last year, and laid additional charges against JUNG SA GANG in November the same year.” After nearly eight months of investigation, the suspects were sent to the prosecution with a charge sheet.
“However, it is confirmed that the charges of incitement to perjury by Kim Chang Hwan and Lee Jung Hyun were sent to the prosecution without charge. As perjury is a crime committed by a suspect because of the instigators who As a result, Kim Chang Hwan and Lee Jung Hyun were most likely involved in the perjury by Moon Young Il, LEE EUN SUNG and JUNG SA GANG. Earlier, police arrested and sent Moon Young Il, a producer from Media Line Entertainment, for assaulting members of THE EAST LIGHT, Lee Seok Cheol and Lee Seung Hyun in December 2018. Kim Chang Hwan, the official of the agency, was sentenced without detention for helping and encouraging the assault.
Moon Young He was then sentenced to one year and four months in prison by the Supreme Court, while Kim Chang Hwan was sentenced to eight months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence.
