Three North Korean soldiers were reportedly arrested because they were “influenced” by South Korean culture, after being caught dancing to the song by K-pop boy group BTS.

On August 11th, the Daily NK reported that three North Korean soldiers in their 20 were arrested while visiting Baekdusan Mountain with other soldiers.
The soldiers are currently awaiting their punishment for the crime of being influenced by “decadent South Korean propaganda” by dancing the choreography to BTS ‘2016 hit song “Blood sweat & tears“.

Members of the Defense Security Agency, who dragged the three soldiers away from the tour, said the soldiers had a “completely rotten state of mind” and the results of the incident would be reported in detail to superiors.
During the investigation, the soldiers claimed that they did not know the dance was a South Korean dance.
According to reports, the unit was also placed in a state of emergency because the three soldiers were exemplary soldiers in both service and training.
North Korea strictly prohibits all citizens from accessing anything related to South Korean popular culture, while only members of a specialized department are allowed to view them for surveillance purposes.
