A host and singer in her forties, identified as “A,” active in the Gyeongnam region, has been arrested and charged for indiscriminately beating her teenage daughter before leaving her to die.
On October 21, the Jinju Prosecutor’s Office, Criminal Division 2 of the Changwon Court (led by Chief Prosecutor Lee Hye-hyun), announced that “A” had been indicted and taken into custody for the murder of her daughter.
According to the prosecutors, on September 22, “A” allegedly assaulted her daughter at their home in Namhae County, resulting in her death. The investigation revealed that after striking her daughter, “A” poured boiling water on the girl’s scalp, causing burns and injuries, and left her in a vehicle for two days despite her cries of pain, leading to her death.
“A” transported her deceased daughter to the hospital, but medical staff, noticing the injuries and suspecting abuse, contacted the police, which led to the crime being uncovered.
According to reports, “A” denied the allegations, stating, “I didn’t know my daughter was in so much pain. When I returned from work, I found her unconscious in the car and took her to the hospital.”
