On October 10th and 11th, the internationally renowned group, BTS, held two online concerts to meet its fans and share a moment with them.

Announced several weeks ago, these concerts were awaited by fans, especially the Korean public who could finally, after the canceled concerts and pre-recorded shows without an audience, find RM, JIN, SUGA, J-HOPE, JIMIN, V and JUNGKOOK on stage to encourage them and share a common moment face-to-face, a moment that is rare at the moment.
However, following an increase in the contamination of COVID 19 on Korean territory and in particular in Seoul, the capital of the country and city where the concert was held, the BTS agency, Bighit Entertainment preferred to cancel the sale of tickets allowing for fans to attend the concert. Thus, only the live and online streaming of the concerts was retained, which didn’t prevent the group members from offering magnificent performances and encouraging messages to the spectators.

So it was for two hours and forty minutes that the public could enjoy new performances, the concerts being centered on the last album released by the group, “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7″, whose tour was canceled.
In addition to new dances, new costumes and new sets, the group used new technological feats in order to fully immerse the viewer in the universe transmitted by music, particularly with augmented reality and extended reality. As well as the possibility to navigate between 6 different camera angles.
As a result, during the solo of RM, rapper, composer and leader of the group, a character of gigantic size and in 3D faced him. Extended and augmented reality were also appreciated during the performance of “DNA” in which the stage and the members gave the impression of floating in a colorful and starry universe. It was the same with the music “Dope” where the band was locked in a hotel elevator that kept going up and down, making stops in the middle of various landscapes such as a desert or a forest.

This concert was also a way for BTS to reunite with its fans and the audience whose members have, on several occasions in live and in interviews, expressed their lack of never meeting them again.
In June, during the BANGBANGCON concert, the group was able to interact with the public through a live chat that was displayed on a large screen in front of the stage. This time around, in order to be able to communicate with ARMY, the name of BTS‘s fandom, the room was showing hundreds of webcams so that members could see and hear fans.
In addition, in order to illustrate the presence of ARMY who had not had the chance to appear around the members, ARMY BOMB, name of the lighstick, had been placed in the front rows and a soundtrack of cheers during the previous concerts were sometimes broadcast during performances. So even though the ARMY were online all over the world, BTS could feel their presence in the concert hall.
After the concerts, Bighit Entertainment announced that the lives had gathered more than 9,993,000 spectators from 191 countries in total, in comparison, their previous live concert, called “BANGBANGCON” had for its part gathered 756,600 spectators from 107 country, MAP OF THE SOUL ON: E concerts were therefore a great success for the group.

BTS also took advantage of this period during which concerts and appearances on shows are impossible to work on a new album in the name of “BE” which is scheduled for release on November 20th.
