Every Sunday in 2021 at 4 am, we’ll come back to a title that shouldn’t be missed.
Many titles are released every day, on online music platforms, official YouTube channels of artists …
This evening we come back to the title “Voodoo doll“ of the Korean group VIXX.
This new title from the group VIXX returns in November 2013 for the release of its 1st album “VOODOO“. It’s a brand new concept that the 6 boys of the group HYUK, KEN, RAVI, N, LEO and HONGBIN want to try. Indeed after the release of the teasers photos which already made us think of a dark concept, see creepy, the members of VIXX had not lied to us.
In the MV, the 6 boys become Voodoo dolls, led by the hands of a young woman. Each member no longer has a conscience of his own and is tortured, mutilated and fulfilled the various desires of his mistress. The members try to escape but unfortunately HONGBIN will be caught.
The song, the images and the choreography blew the brains of the “good thinkers” within the Korean musical world, and very quickly the choreography and the MV were censored in South Korea, being deemed too violent. Even if Jellyfish Entertainment tries to justify the concept, they’ll have no choice but to revisit the choreography and release another version of the MV.
A “Clean” version will be revealed a few days later.
Like many titles that are censored, fans want to see more and buy into the new VIXX effect, The single “Voodoo doll” peaks at number 7 on the Gaon Singles Chart and ranks in 2013 as number 53 on the K-Pop Billboard Hot 100.
Following this MV, the group VIXX will very quickly become a group known and recognized for its worked and original concepts. Songs like “Shangri-la“, “Chained up” or even “Error“, will concretize this capacity to go always further in the worked concepts.
