ATEEZ - SAN
On July 10, we are celebrating CHOI SAN‘s birthday, known as SAN from boy group ATEEZ.
SAN is a singer, a dancer, a model and one of ATEEZ‘s members. The young man is a hard worker, he likes playing video games, he loves learning choreographies and has many plushies. His favorite one is called Shiber and he brings it everywhere he goes.
SAN is also really flexible thanks to his many years of taekwondo training. Indeed, his father is the owner of a taekwondo studio. He can be really serious but also loud and joyful. He always tries to have ATEEZ members’ attention and is often seen as trying to cling onto them. Moreover, he is known for his great English accent even if he is not fluent and his fans often wants to hear him say a few words in English as “purple” that he pronounces really well. Finally, SAN‘s bright, cute and funny side can be seen in reality shows, VLIVE videos or even on TikTok.

Before being a member from ATEEZ, SAN participated in his agency’s project entitled KQ Fellaz. It was a group of trainees that were promoted through videos and a reality shows in the last steps before their debuts. They had to go to Los Angeles for several months to improve their dancing skills and they went to dance to the great dance school “Millennium Dance Complex”. Based on what ATEEZ‘ members said, that was during this trip that SAN, who was a common dancer, started to develop his own dance syle and an amazing stage presence. At this time, KQ Fellaz gained a lot of popularity thanks to one video that quickly reached 1 million views thanks to their unique dance style for a future k-pop group.
On October 24, 2018, the trainees became ATEEZ’ members and debuted with a first album in a serie of comebacks based on the theme “TREASURE”. After title-songs “Pirate King” and “Say My name”, the group performed a few times their side track “HALA HALA”. This song helped SAN gaining more popularity because he has always been considered as one of the vocals and not as one of the main dancers. With “HALA HALA”, SAN showed that he was able to dance crazily on stage as if he was possessed and from that time, he has been recognized as the member with the best stage presence.
In 2019, ATEEZ did many concerts in America and Europe and all of their dates were sold out. It is unique for a rookie group and proves that ATEEZ has a growing popularity in foreign countries. SAN and the other members did not rest and had many comebacks in 2019. They ended their theme “TREASURE” with title-song “Answer” in January 2020.
Comeback after comeback, SAN became more and more talented and also gained confidence, something that could be seen in the group’s lives or performances. ATEEZ’ members often said that SAN in his daily life is adorable but is able to become a completely different person when he has to perform. His duality can be seen in the photos under.
In early 2020, between two comebacks, the members were still active and were able to see their fans through videos, many contents, award shows, cover videos and entertainment shows. In May 2020, ATEEZ became an ambassador of Korean culture thanks to their power and promotion of Korean culture throughout the world. On June 26, ATEEZ did a cover of “On” by BTS adding their own style in it and one more time, SAN attracted people’s attention thanks to his looks, great voice and amazing stage presence.
In July 2020, it was announced that the group would have a comeback and it was a long-awaited one. The group started a new serie of comebacks with the theme “FEVER” by releasing a new mini-album. The members promoted with “Inception” and “Thanxx” on music shows and it was a huge success. They were able to win a first place on a music show after their first win ever with title-song “WAVE” on June 20, 2019.
Finaly, in 2021, ATEEZ won many new fans when they participated in Mnet’s show “Kingdom: Legendary War”. The group second performance on their song “WONDERLAND” and attracted people’s attention by showing amazing performances. This performance video that can be watched under, already reached 5 millions views on YouTube.
Let’s say “happy birthday” to SAN, ATEEZ’ stage king that has many more performances to go to show his duality as a cute person in a daily basis and an amazing performer on stage.
