This album was planned with “IN THE NAME OF LOVE” released in 2019. It was originally due for release last year, but the release schedule has been postponed to improve its content.

CL captured Lee Chae Rin‘s individual feelings and thoughts through “IN THE NAME OF LOVE“. Thanks to this album “ALPHA“, a new plan for the future of CL will be unveiled. She emphasizes independence by reflecting the qualifier of “original girl crush”.

Above all, CL was involved in the writing and composition of all the songs on the album and led the way. She underlined her identity by putting her own voice without featuring.

The title song is “Tie a cherry“. A lot of famous overseas employees worked hard for this one.

Nick Lee, who recently topped Billboard’s “Hot 100” main singles charts, composed Neil Na and Jack Hollow’s “Industry Baby”. The clip was directed by Nick Walker, who worked with Beyonce and Billy Eilish.

The album also includes two previously released singles. The first single “Spicy” featured a narration by actor John Malkovic. The second single “Lover like me” was produced by British singer-songwriter Anne-Marie, who has a large fan base in Korea.

CL, former member of the group “2NE1”, has led trends in various fields such as music and fashion.

On August 18, 2016, the single “LIFTED” was released and placed 94th on Billboard’s “Hot 100” Main Singles Chart. It was her first entry as a Korean solo singer. That same year, she visited nine North American cities to perform. In 2018, she appeared in the Hollywood movie “Mile 22” and started acting at the same time. At the end of last year, she left YG Entertainment and found herself alone.

CL will continue to appear on various shows for the promotion of the album. Starting with KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” on the 22nd, she will appear on KBS 2TV’s “Yoo Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook” and SBS TV’s “Inkigayo”.
