STRAY KIDS: A few words before the release of the collaboration

Before the release of the new song “Lose my breath (Feat. Charlie Puth)” this May 10, STRAY KIDS shared the work process and raised expectations.

STRAY KIDS will release a new digital single titled “LOSE MY BREATH (Feat. Charlie Puth)” on May 10. As the new song is a collaboration between international artist STRAY KIDS and international musician Charlie Puth, the group unveiled an introductory video in which the members talked about their songwriting skills on its SNS, “You Could be surprised“, “Oh, this will definitely work” and “I think we needed at least one song like this”.

STRAY KIDS expressed confidence in its new song from the start of the intro video. “We enjoyed and loved Charlie Puth’s music,” said BANG CHAN, CHANGBIN and HAN, the production team 3RACHA, who hosted the Song Camp with Charlie Puth. It was an honor and an incredible thing to work with.

He expressed his pride in being able to meet STRAY KIDS through his new song. “It sounds like R&B and it’s a genre that STRAY KIDS has never done before. Listening to the song, I was like, ‘STRAY KIDS fits that kind of song well too.’ I think the best the highlight of this song is a line that says it all in the chorus, making you feel nervous and out of breath. I think JYP style songs come out well.”

Additionally, the music video also shows that he puts his heart and soul into it. “In keeping with the theme of the song, this is a story from “Mermaid Story” by STRAY KIDS. It’s about loving and wanting someone enough to escape the sea. So far, the members of STRAY KIDS felt like “fire”, but “The scene where they submerge their faces in water or it rains is well expressed. In the underwater setting, the group scene is the focal point, and there are many scenes where they act individually, especially in the cinema,” amplifying curiosity for the full episode. “If you watch the show, you you will be surprised. We have prepared a mid-tempo rhythmic choreography that STRAY KIDS will never do, which expresses their power on stage. Overall, it’s a repetition of the strong and the weak, but I completed it by watching different versions and adding my own opinions,” he added, referring to the extraordinary performance of “Performance Master”.

STRAY KIDS, who said: “We want to achieve our dreams and goals all over the world“, will launch various overseas promotions with the release of its English single “LOSE MY BREATH (Feat. Charlie Puth)” and reach the STAYs from all over the world. It will expand its global momentum as a “triple headliner” of major overseas music festivals, including Milan, Italy’s “I-Days” on July 12 (local time), London’s “BST Hyde Park” on 14 (British Summer Time Hyde Park) in London, then in the United States, at the “Lollapalooza Chicago” in Chicago, which sold out all its tickets on August 2.

At the end of the introductory video, the group left a message for STAYs while waiting for their return to Korea, saying, “It’s really soon. If you wait a little bit, you can enjoy a really delicious album.“
