HYUNJIN performed on October 16th for the dance studio, STUDIO CHOOM. The boy was chosen to represent the month of October and unveil an unforgettable performance.
The performance teaser had been posted on October 11th and had already been talked about, HYUNJIN, member of the group STRAY KIDS, had already gone viral the year before with his performance of “Psycho” by Red velvet and the beauty of his. face, thanks to his long hair, and did not lose his habit. The teaser promised powerful choreography and a clever change of outfit. In it, he also stated the fact that he had always felt like he was bad at dancing and that his early years were surely the most complicated because learning this art was complex. He explained that he had often cried over it and that the framework of the pandemic had made him lose his confidence in himself in addition to hurting him. The lack of fans, a canceled tour and the fact that the whole organization was upset, had hurt him. He delivered a last message, stressing that he was happy to be able to communicate fully in this new language that is dance.
It was therefore on October 16th that the performance was put online, the dancer left nothing to chance, his movements were measured, the glances were piercing and the choice of the song was quite astute. It is on the last hit “Motley crew” of the American singer and rapper Post Malone that the dancer charmed the fans. HYUNJIN confessed that he had explored several styles of dance going through sexier and more mature choreography or just simpler and cuter choreography, but that this was the first time that he had tried such a strict and energetic style. He managed to put all his frustration and rage into this performance that was all his own and he can be totally proud of it.
The video broke records, it was the solo performance in the category: “ARTIST OF THE MOUTH” to reach the fastest, the million views. Indeed, it only took 4:19 for it to be seen so many times. He thus passed in front of the performance of Yeonjun, of TXT which is in second place with the million views in 7:24, Chaeyong and Yeji of Itzy and Wooyoung of Ateez. The singer declared on Bubble to have been very surprised and to have cried. Members of the same group have also left messages of support on the same platform for HYUNJIN.
Note that STUDIO CHOOM is a dance studio run by the Mnet channel and its selection for “ARTIST OF THE MOUTH” initially allows solo artists to be showcased. The choreographies allow the dancer to show a talent that they cannot necessarily fully show when they are with their groups. It also makes it possible to make the groups and agencies known on a larger scale. The opportunity that all of its artists have been given is an obelity in the KPOP industry and their careers.
