WAYV - WINWIN
WINWIN is one of the Chinese artists of SM ENTERTAINMENT. He was introduced as a member of the NCT 127 subunit at first, then was introduced as a member of WAYV, the Chinese subunit of NCT in a second step. Previously he was introduced in the SM ROOKIES project in January 2016, after joining the agency in 2015, and was subsequently seen in the MV “Without you”, one of the first songs of the sub-unit NCT U.
Moreover, his short period of training did not allow him to learn Korean enough, which he had to learn and improve “on the job”. As a member of NCT 127, he appeared on the famous NCT show called “NCT LIFE” for several seasons.
One of his first appearances as an official member of NCT was in the video titled “SM_NCT # 3. 7th Sens“, and it is in this last one that we find out that WINWIN shows himself to be very talented in the field of traditional dance, by sharing his talents and skills in this area, all in a dark and mystical setting. He was also in a school specializing in the field of traditional dance (Beijing Dance Academia), and was then spotted by SM ENTERTAINMENT as well.
He debuted with NCT 127 in 2016, with the group’s first mini-album: “NCT #127”, accompanied by the MV of the title song “Fire truck”. He will remain in the sub-unit until 2019, and will then join the new group of the agency SM ENTERTAINEMENT and LABEL V: WAYV. He spent four years with his first sub-unit and helped produce a total of five albums with it. In fact, he also participated in the NCT 2018 project, being in the project album “EMPATHY“. The project was to bring together all the subunits of NCT in a single album, thus organizing a specific comeback for each subunit. WINWIN was then featured in the title song of NCT 127 for this album, which is called “Touch“.

Within WAYV, to date, we find WINWIN in a total of three albums. And now he is found in the NCT 2020 project, in the two-part album “RESONANCE Pt.1” and “RESONANCE Pt.2“. We see him in NCT U, for the songs “90’s Love” as well as “Resonance“.

WINWIN is a very discreet person, even in front of the cameras. He is quite a shy person too. However, that doesn’t prevent him from expressing himself more in the various videos of his group. In “NCT LIFE” where we can see him, it is very easy to notice that he is uncomfortable and reserved. He was able to improve on that, and now even has his own show that airs on YouTube, on the official WAYV channel: “WINFORMATION“. The principle of this show is to see WINWIN watching the comments / requests of the fans, with other members of the group like KUN or HENDERY.
WINWIN has never ceased to show fans his talent and his passion for traditional dance, and with TEN (another member of WAYV passionate about dance), they produced a short video where the two young boys perform a cover in a fairly flexible style.
However, despite the passage of time since his debut, WINWIN is one of the members with the fewest lines in the songs, and therefore receives very little prominence compared to other members. Fans remain hopeful that things will one day change for him as he remains a very talented member in some areas.
