BENJI becomes the first Korean artist to collaborate with an Algerian artist with the song « وعد مني (Waad Meni) » in collaboration with BMD.
BENJI was a former member of B.I.G. In 2019, the group published a cover of THE5 entitled « La Bezzaf ». The video reached one million views in less than a week, boosting their career and popularity in Arabic countries.
Back then, BMD, a former member of THE5, immediately noticed B.I.G’s energy and talent. They were mentioning a collaboration, but no project really came to life.
BENJI left the group in 2020 after his contract was terminated, and he kept in touch with the Algerian artist with the idea of creating music together. It’s now done thanks to the song « وعد مني (Waad Meni) » with its pop tune and summer vibe.
The MV is colorful with the Algerian landscape as the background for BMD and the streets of Los Angeles for BENJI. The lyrics are in Arabic, Korean, and English for a perfect cultural mix combining lyricism and exoticism.
Both artists are really proud to introduce the first collaboration between an Arabic artist from Algeria and a Korean artist.
