The group MCND has successfully completed the promotion of its fifth mini-album “ODD-VENTURE”.
MCND (Castle J, Bic, Minjae, Huijun and Win) completed activities for “Odd-venture“, the title song of their fifth mini album “ODD-VENTURE”, which lasted for about four weeks after the broadcast ” MBC’s Show! Music Core” on December 16.
MCND continued to actively communicate with GEMs (fans of the group) by continually releasing various content ranging from music programs to radio appearances. In particular, the members showed improved performances, skills and visuals, adding to the enjoyment of watching the show.
Remarkable performance is another factor to pay attention to. MCND is number 1 on iTunes albums in Colombia with its fifth mini-album “ODD-VENTURE”. This is also the case in New Zealand, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Turkey and Poland. Its track “Run” surpassed 600,000 views in an instant just after the track’s video was released, showing just as much momentum as its title track.
MCND, which further expanded with “ODD-VENTURE” and exuded a different charm, released a series of questions and answers related to the end of activities.
Q. You have finished your promotion for your 5th mini album “ODD-VENTURE”. How do you feel after successfully completing this promotion?
CASTLE J: I think it was a rewarding promotion where I felt like my hard work wasn’t in vain. Especially seeing that the album was filled with the members’ names, I once again felt that MCND had grown a lot. Even though we worked hard on it, a lot of people liked it and encouraged us, which made for a fun conclusion.
BIC: It was a pleasure to meet our fans through different content, particularly musical programs. I would especially like to thank the members and our fans who completed the promotion safely.
MINJAE: We paid more attention to music since it was our comeback after a long time. I was happy to show you a new and mature side of MCND’s music. Look forward to our next album.
HUIJUN: We prepared everything, from singing to rapping to performance, for this promotion. I’m sad that the four-week promotion flew by in no time, maybe because all the members worked together and had a great time with the fans.
WIN: I am happy that we were able to conclude our promotions in good health. It’s a shame that it’s ending because we have a lot of good memories, but I’m happy that we were able to show you everything we wanted to show you without any regrets.
Q. Is there a genre or future goal you would like to try as MCND?
CASTLE J: I often think I want to try the Drum N Bass or Jersey Club genre these days. These are songs that interest me recently. The more I listen to it, the more attractive it is, and I think MCND will be able to use them well, so I would like to try it if I get the chance.
WIN: MCND is a hip-hop group. I want to approach the hip-hop genre in more depth. So I study more and continue to make music that goes well with MCND. I think it would be good to show you the hip-hop genre that reveals the unique color of MCND.
MINJAE: I would like to organize an offline concert in Korea. We debuted during the pandemic and held concerts only online. As I perform in many countries and around the world, I think I would like to organize a face-to-face concert. We will work harder for that day to come.
Q. I’m also curious about your future activities.
HUIJUN: We have finished promoting “ODD-VENTURE”, but we are preparing various activities to meet our fans. We are holding Japanese album promotions and fan meetings starting January 5, 2024. This is our second visit to Japan since our debut, so we are very nervous. We are going to show you different sides of MCND, so look forward to it.
MINJAE: In 2024, we will officially start touring overseas as well as Japan. We are visiting Europe and the Americas again. It’s thrilling and exciting to have concerts with international GEMs in more countries and cities than Korea. We will give GEMs an unforgettable time as an improved version of ourselves, so I hope you will show a lot of interest in the tour.
Q. MCND’s performances are well-known enough to merit the designations “tour master” and “stage master.” What is the point of the foreign tour which begins at the beginning of the year?
BIC: We’re thinking about what kind of music the five of us should play on tour and what kinds of songs we could have more fun with. I think I learned how to run the stage as an artist by leading various tours. I hope you are looking forward to this performance, which will further excite our fans by becoming much more knowledgeable.
HUIJUN: Since the title of this overseas tour is “ODD-VENTURE TOUR 2024“, I think we will be able to show you our new rendition of songs. It would be great if you pay attention to MCND’s new song and varied set list, which will be filled with energy.
Q. Finally, please say something to the Gems who have sent MCND a lot of support and love.
CASTLE J: I think this promotion was better because there were plenty of opportunities to communicate with the GEMs face to face. Things may be long or short, but I hope another memory that MCND and the GEMs created together is happily established. Let’s make MCND and GEMs together forever in 2024.
BIC: Thank you very much for your enthusiastic attention and love for this album, which contains the colorful music of MCND. I felt once again that MCND was there because the GEMs always honored me despite the cold. I was so happy in 2023.
