The “Korean Hip Hop Awards 2024“, Korea’s only specialized music style awards ceremony and festival of hip hop musicians, has been confirmed.

The “Korean Hip Hop Awards 2024” (hereinafter referred to as “KHA 2024”) is a project co-organized by HIPHOPPLAYA and HIPHOPLE, two media representative of Korean hip hop. KHA 2024, an awards ceremony that has been held for eight years at the center of Korean hip hop culture, will return again this year, starting with its first event in 2017. KHA 2024 will highlight performances from hip hop genres and R&B for works and artists of this type of music in South Korea, released from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
Starting in January, candidate recommendations will be made via the official website. A total of 28 selection committee members will be joined by experts from various fields, including music critics, media experts, label A&R, video directors, performance planners and music distributors.
However, unlike previous years, HIPHOPPLAYA and HIPHOPLE will select the candidates for KHA 2024 itself. As before, the candidates will be recommended by the selection committee and netizens, but the selection method will be replaced by the direct selection method. It is important that the focus is not just on the sheer number of recommendations.
At the last “KHA 2023”, PARK JAE BEOM won the “Artist of the Year” award and was awarded for the year. At that time, PARK JAE BEOM continued to take on new challenges, including the release of “Ganadara” with IU, creating a label, More Vision, after resigning from the head of “AOMG” and “Higher Music“. Among the hiphop albums of that year, Lil Moschpit‘s album “AAA” and “SEXY NUKIM” by BALMING TIGER in collaboration with RM from BTS were acclaimed. Thus, a total of nine prizes were awarded.
