On January 2nd, 2024, the singer JENNIE from the group BLACKPINK, spoke on LEE HYORI‘s show « THE SEASONS – LEE HYORI’S RED CAFE » about the reasons for her departure from YG ENTERTAINMENT to found her own agency.
When asked about the reasons for creating OA (ODD ATELIER), she said : « I founded this agency because I wanted to do group activities with the label I had been with for seven years, but have more freedom and comfort in my individual activities. » She added : « I am currently working with the team that I have worked with for a long time. »
She went on to explain : « ODD ATELIER is a name I created with the intention of doing good even if the path I take is strange and different from others. » She also added : « I’m excited because this is the first time I’m holding a microphone and revealing it to the public. I’m happy to be able to do it in front of you (LEE HYORI). Please support us. »
JENNIE also mentioned : « I learned a lot at YG, and I was able to do it there because it was a company where I started as a trainee from the beginning. » And she added : « with this spirit of challenge, I asked myself : “What can you do by yourself in the future ? ” I thought : “Let’s face this with courage”».
Regarding the BLACKPINK group’s activities, JENNIE said : « We are still doing well with YG and ODD ATELIER just opened and we are just starting to meet, I will do my best ».
JENNIE also plans to release a full solo album this year thanks to OA. She said : « My dream is to release my first full solo album. I set this goal for myself for this year. I’ll be back soon with some good music ».
