Pledis Entertainment’s “hot rookie” TWS was selected as an advertising model even before its official debut.
Agency Pledis Entertainment said on January 19, “TWS (Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon and Kyungmin) will be selected as the exclusive model for Lotte Chilsung Beverage Milkis and will serve as the model for all lines, including original products.” Milkis has been popular for 34 years since its first launch in 1989 and is a popular drink that currently accounts for around 80% of Yuseong’s domestic soft drink market. Even before its debut, TWS proved to be the “best expected title in 2024” by becoming the new face of a drink with a strong brand presence.
The brand explained: “The identity of TWS was selected as a representative model in line with the exciting and sweet brand image that the product pursues.” It is very unusual that a K-pop group, which has not even debuted, was chosen as a brand model, and it is possible to guess how much the industry is interested in TWS.
TWS is the first boy group to debut under Pledis Entertainment in nine years since SEVENTEEN, and it received positive reviews from fans around the world on January 2 when it released the track “Oh Mymy: 7s” from its first mini-album “SPARKLING BLUE”. TWS will debut after the release of “SPARKLING BLUE” at 6 p.m. KST on January 22.
