CATCH THE YOUNG: An interview that reveals secrets

The K-Rock group, CATCH THE YOUNG, from EVERMORE Entertainment, is back with a second mini album “CATCH THE YOUNG : FRAGMENTS OF ODYSSEY”, the group told us exclusivities in this interview.

CATCH THE YOUNG, new group from EVERMORE Entertainment who debuted in Novembre 2023 with the mini album “CATCH THE YOUNG : FRAGMENTS OF YOUTH”. Composed of 5 members, NAMHYUN (Main Singer), KIHOON (Guitare), SANI (Basse, Singer), JUNYONG(Keyboard, Singer), JUNGMO (Drums), the young group cameback with the mini album “CATCH THE YOUNG : FRAGMENTS OF ODYSSEY”. Kstation TV asked them some questions during a roundtable interview.

New group in the Korean universe, what are your musical influences and your role models?

“I think we all have different role models, but for me, I’m a big fan of an artist named The Charm Park who is active in Japan. Our band has practiced songs from various bands, including Red Hot Chili Peppers, The 1975, ONE OK ROCK, and those with similar vibes” – SANI

What would be your ultimate goal to achieve for the consecration of your career?

“Our short-term goal with this album is to perform “Voyager” at a festival and host a concert with 1,000 attendees this year. Looking ahead, we aim to become a globally recognized band performing for millions. Ultimately, we aspire to bring band sound to the forefront of the mainstream music industry.” – SANI

The group also told us that they had given the best of themselves for this comeback, hoping to show the audience their maturity, professionalism, and vocal and instrumental techniques. CATCH THE YOUNG, looked back on its debuts. The Leader, SANI, explained to us that the difficulties of their debuts had forged the group, and had made them a group working with ardor

“We always record ourselves and we are producing, recording each other and something we’ve learned from recording and completing the 1st album was that we are able to re-record, that’s ok to give it another try, multiple tries for that song. It might seem very simple, but before then we always thought that it’s really hard and that we shouldn’t go back to the recorded version and then give it another try, because sometimes we thought ‘oh, re-recording is just not necessary’ even though we don’t like it. But while recording our first album we learned that sometimes it’s better to give it another try, another time, another day because every condition for our each day can be different and so by trying another, giving another try can really bring up the best result that we’re really aiming for. So, for the 2nd album we took that lesson and I remember doing a lot of re-recordings and reworking over the songs.”

After discussing the motivations for their comeback, the members spoke about the title song “Voyager”, which they describe as ideal music to introduce this new album “CATCH THE YOUNG : FRAGMENTS OF ODYSSEY”. “Gathering my colors that slowly spread as if they were sinking” is a moment in the song where many people can find themselves, and therefore appreciate the music, in the instrumental, as in the lyrics.

Catch de Young also touched us, because of their stories and their motivations. They were asked if they had anything to say to their younger selves.

NAMHYUN: “When faced with choices, there were times when the fear of the unknown held me back.  So I want to tell myself to be not afraid and make the choice.“
JUNGMO: “To my younger self, I would advise to simply enjoy youth. There’s a lot to learn and experience in innocence and playfulness, which shape who we become. Embracing those moments of play and enjoyment can teach valuable lessons and contribute to personal growth, so I would advise myself to spend more time playing and simply having fun.“
SANI: “I would advise my younger self to invest in bitcoin and start practicing vocal techniques early, taking advantage of the vocal chord structure before it changes during adolescence.”
KIHOON: “I would also advise myself to invest in bitcoin.“

Each of them responded in a very inspiring way. Ultimately, will this group become our inspiration ?
