Wanna One former member and current CIX member BAE JIN YOUNG has become a FA (Free Artist).
According to Korean media today, BAE JIN YOUNG has decided not to renew his contract with C9 Entertainment. It is said that the decision to terminate the contract was made after a long discussion.
BAE JIN YOUNG first gained attention when he participated in Mnet’s survival show “Produce 101 Season 2,” which began airing in April 2017. At the time, he was given an “F-level” position due to his poor performance, as he had been a trainee for 11 months. However, he experienced dramatic growth with each performance and became a member of Wanna One in 10th place.
BAE JIN YOUNG, who debuted as Wanna One on August 7, 2017, has gradually improved as a sub-vocalist within the group. The very popular boy group Wanna One ended their promotions with a concert in January 2019. Later, BAE JIN YOUNG released a solo album titled “끝을 발아들이기가 어려워” in April.
After Wanna One disbanded, many fans speculated that BAE JIN YOUNG would choose to become a solo artist, but he debuted as a member of the group CIX in July 2019, expressing his intention to work as a group. He showed the group’s identity by taking over the center, main dancer role, and main vocalist of CIX.
CIX has released six mini albums and one full-length album. They released their first single album “0 or 1” this year and successfully held a solo tour of the same name. To celebrate their 5th anniversary, they held “2024 FIX Week” for a week. Main vocalist SEUNGHOON won the title track for “Build Up,” which aired earlier this year, and is currently promoting CIX with B.D.U.
C9 Entertainment, where BAE JIN YOUNG has worked for about seven years, is a company that includes Yoon-ha and Lee Seok Hoon. CIX is the company’s first boy group. Since debuting with CIX, C9 Entertainment has activated idol productions such as Cignature and Epex.
BAE JIN YOUNG starred in the web drama “@User not found” and the movie “THE ANTIQUE SHOP”. Some have said that he will pursue acting after his contract with C9 Entertainment is terminated, but there is a rumor that he has a strong passion for performing and a desire to work as a singer. Attention is focused on where BAE JIN YOUNG will realize his dream of becoming the artist he wants to be.
