The “JUSPEACE” foundation, which singer G-DRAGON promised to establish, will hold an inaugural event in Yeouido, Seoul on the afternoon of August 5 and will be officially launched.
G-DRAGON‘s agency Galaxy Corporation said, “Since announcing its establishment at a press conference last December, we have been participating in advisory meetings, expert interviews, discussions on specific fields, and business preparations since January this year. G-DRAGON has decided to be the honorary chairman.”
More than 50 experts from all walks of life will attend the foundation’s public service, fundraising, and public relations.
Choi Yong Ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, who is also the chairman of the foundation, will deliver a keynote speech, and Oh Hee Young, CEO of the foundation, will introduce the company. Cho Wonhee, auditor of the foundation (a lawyer representing DLG, a law firm), will announce “The Use of Creators and Intellectual Property Rights,” while Choi Jae Cheon, chairman of the Life Diversity Foundation (a professor emeritus of Ewha Womans University), will speak under the theme “What Kind of Peace Will the JUSPEACE Foundation Follow?”
The JUSPEACE Foundation announced that it will contribute to the development of copyright culture, which is directly related to the cultivation of creative talents, and contribute to society through artistic talent.

G-DRAGON said, “Artists can live a life that not only makes art, but also brings happiness and peace to the world,” adding, “I thought that I could help more people if I actually did community service or established a public foundation to show a good influence beyond giving love and peace to the world through music.”
G-DRAGON officials recommended the “Kwon Ji Yong Foundation” or “G-Dragon Foundation” as the name of the foundation, but G-DRAGON named it the “JUSPEACE Foundation,” which combines justice and peace.
G-DRAGON said, “Even if it’s not a grand and meaningful justice, it can be said that justice is in our lives to be unjust and correct misunderstandings,” adding, “There are many unjust people in the world, and when that happens, we need a person who believes in us and stands by us. However, people have a harder time because such an existence does not exist.”
G-DRAGON was suspected of drug use last year but was cleared following the investigation. He said he would establish a foundation to help prevent the injustice of weak beings from happening again.
Choi Yong Ho, chairman of the JUSTPEACE Foundation, said, “We will make more original social contributions than anyone else, starting with donating a portion of the royalties and profits in accordance with G-DRAGON’s stated intentions.”
