BTS member SUGA was arrested for drunk driving an electric vehicle.
It was previously reported that Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced on August 7 that they were investigating SUGA for a traffic violation (driving while intoxicated).
According to the police, SUGA was found alone falling while riding an electric vehicle while drunk in Yongsan-gu the day before. In response, SUGA’s agency Big Hit Music admitted and apologized for SUGA’s drunk driving via fan platform Weverse.

슈가는 6일(화) 밤 음주상태에서 집으로 귀가하던 중 헬멧을 착용한 상태로 전동 킥보드를 이용했습니다. 500미터 정도 이동 후 주차시 넘어졌고, 주변에 계시던 경찰을 통해 음주 측정한 결과 범칙금과 면허취소 처분을 받았습니다. 해당 사건으로 인명 피해나 재산 피해가 발생하지는 않았으며, 경찰 인계 하에 집으로 귀가했습니다.
당사는 아티스트의 부적절한 행동으로 많은 분들께 실망감을 드린 점 사과드립니다. 사회복무요원 신분으로 사회적 물의를 일으킨 행동에 대해서는 근무처로부터 적절한 처분을 받을 예정입니다.
향후에는 이러한 일이 발생하지 않도록 더욱 주의를 기울이겠습니다.

BIG HIT MUSIC stated, “SUGA used an electric vehicle for 500 meters while wearing a helmet while returning home after drunk driving on the night of the 6th (Tuesday) and fell while parking. The police around him found him and measured his blood alcohol level, and he was fined and his driver’s license was revoked.“
She then stated, “There was no loss of life or property in the incident, but we apologize for disappointing many people due to the artist’s inappropriate behavior. As a social worker, we will receive appropriate measures from the workplace for actions that caused social controversy.”
SUGA also wrote a message directly to the community and apologized, saying, “I feel very heavy and sorry to visit you with this disappointment. I apologize to everyone who was hurt by reckless and incorrect behavior, and I will be more careful in my actions so that this does not happen again in the future.“

집 앞 정문에서 전동 킥보드를 세우는 과정에서 혼자 넘어지게 되었고, 주변에 경찰관 분이 계셔서 음주 측정한 결과 면허취소 처분과 범칙금이 부과되었습니다.
이 과정에서 피해를 입으신 분 또는 파손된 시설은 없었지만, 변명의 여지가 없는 제 책임이기에 모든 분들께 머리 숙여 사과의 말씀을 드립니다.
부주의하고 잘못된 저의 행동에 상처 입으신 모든 분들께 사과드리며, 앞으로는 이러한 일이 없도록 더욱더 행동에 주의하겠습니다.”
SUGA entered the Nonsan Training Center in Chungcheongnam-do in March to receive basic military training and is currently working as a social worker.
