SUNYE, who appears in the musical “Moon Night,” said in an interview, “Moon Night is a jukebox dance musical based on ‘Moon Night’ in Itaewon, a sacred place for dancing in the 1990s. I am with Se7en, and I think I will be able to meet my fans up close because it is a performance that is touring the country as an event.”
SUNYE, who shows her perfect chemistry with Se7en, appearing together, said, “Oppa is such a good atmosphere maker who cares about people and makes it fun, so I enjoy it because of him.”
SUNYE is expanding her career to the genres of entertainment, music, and jazz, following her main work as a singer. When asked how she decided to return to her career, she said, “Rather than starting my own career, I was grateful that I was invited first, so I got the opportunity. Since I was raising three children, it was environmentally difficult and I didn’t expect to be able to come back.” She said, “I was able to return to tvN’s show ‘Mama the idol’ thanks to this great opportunity, and since then, I’ve been offered many musical suggestions.“
As she took to the stage for the first time in a long time through “Mama the idol,” she said, “I felt familiar and unfamiliar emotions. I felt a combination of emotions. I feel like a gift has arrived that I didn’t expect. I’m grateful to be able to have fun while working again. I feel more relaxed than before.“
SUNYE, who wants to continue acting, said, “Acting is very appealing. As you get older, you’ll be able to perform natural acting that suits your age. There are healing aspects to the character, but the fun and emotion of breathing with the audience through the stage or screen is different. I want to meet more diverse characters in the future.“
WONDER GIRLS are continuing their close friendship, which has not changed even after a long time. “I try to meet them often, but it’s not easy. Each member does their job and does their best. We always support each other and stay in touch,” SUNYE said.
When asked if she had any plans for WONDER GIRLS’ group activities, she replied, “So many people ask me. I don’t have any specific plans, but I want to try if I get the chance. I think it would be fun to do it as a guerilla concert.”
When asked if SUNYE, who has become a “다둥맘 (Working Mother)” icon, has any difficulties raising a child, she replied, “There are many difficulties because I have three children, but I think I live my life stronger with joy and happiness with them. Being able to live as a mother is the greatest happiness in my life. I am also very grateful to my husband. I think I can continue my activities as I am now because of his support.”
