Singer and actor KIM JONG HYEON of the boy band NU’EST will join the military for active duty.

Evermore Entertainment stated on August 19, “KIM JONG HYEON will join the military on September 23 and fulfill his military service obligations,” adding, “No separate official programs will be held on that day, and he will be admitted behind closed doors for on-site safety reasons.”
“We would like to thank fans for always sending lots of love. We ask for warm encouragement and lots of support so that he can faithfully fulfill his military service duty and return in good health.” it said.

KIM JONG HYEON debuted as the leader of the boy group NU’EST, JR, in 2012. NU’EST received a lot of love from his fans thanks to his hit songs, such as “Face”, “Hello”, and “Love paint“.
He later appeared in the SBS drama “Let me be your night” in 2021 and successfully established himself as an actor, continuing his activities in music and film.
In 2022, KIM JONG HYEON joined Evermore Entertainment after his exclusive contract with his former agency Pledis Entertainment expired, announcing a new beginning as KIM JONG HYEON, not JR. Since then, he has been actively pursuing his singing and acting career.

KIM JONG HYEON, who is set to join the military, will hold a fan meeting “2024 KIM JONG HYEON “&nding”” at the Unjeong Green Campus Auditorium of Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul on August 31. This fan meeting is expected to be a place to share precious memories with fans before joining the military.
