BTS’s V set a major record in Japan with his solo album.

According to an announcement from the Japan Records Association today, V‘s first solo album “LAYOVER,” released in September last year, has recorded over 250,000 cumulative sales in September, earning the “Platinum” certification for the gold record. “LAYOVER” became V‘s first “Platinum” gold record. Although the album has been out for over a year, it is significant in that it has been selling steadily, which adds to the new record.
The Japan Records Association awards gold record certifications such as gold (over 100,000 copies), platinum (over 250,000 copies), double platinum (over 500,000 copies), triple platinum (over 750,000 copies), and million (over 1 million copies) each month, based on the cumulative sales of singles and albums.
V and “LAYOVER” are also popular on Japan’s Oricon. The album’s LP was recently released, and thanks to the album’s success, “LAYOVER” topped the Oricon daily album chart (September 30).
Meanwhile, “LAYOVER” was very popular upon its release, directly topping the “Daily Album Ranking.” The album’s title track, “Slow Dancing,” also topped the “Daily Digital Single Ranking,” and V achieved the feat of topping both the album and song charts.
