KISS OF LIFE
Girl group KISS OF LIFE is making its comeback this Tuesday, October 15, with its third mini-album “LOSE YOURSELF“.
Composed of members JULIE, NATTY, BELLE, HANEUL, the group of S2 ENTERTAINMENT holds a showcase in Seoul to present its new album, carried by seven tracks, including the title song “Get loud“. The concept of this album is based around two key elements, freedom and immersion, on hip-hop sounds and touches of guitar. As usual, the showcase begins with the broadcast of a VCR (video) introducing the members, before they go on stage to greet the journalists.
One by one, they pose in front of the cameras, highlighting their unique charms. Referred to as the “queens of summer” by the MC, the young women intend to prove to the public that they deserve this coveted title. To do this, the video for “Get loud” is immediately broadcast, followed by the group’s live performance. Softer, the song “R.E.M” is then presented via a simple and colorful MV, also performed by KISS OF LIFE right after.
It is then time to discuss with the MC in order to present this new album. BELLE describes it as an album that allows to show the charm of the singers, and their talent. In addition, the assiduous practice of the songs in the recording room allows the artists to appropriate the lyrics with accuracy, underlined by the clip of “Get loud” which allows to highlight new facial expressions or a different style for the members.
NATTY then describes the key points of the choreography, when they say “get loud“, and they wave their hands as if they were shouting. Then, the rap duet that she shares with JULIE is also important to her, because it allows to show dynamic movements and symbolize freedom. “R.E.M” is designated as a song taking place in a dream world from which one does not wish to wake up, to highlight the vocal capacities of each member.
The other tracks are “Chemistry”, “Too many alex.”, “Back to me“, “None but us” and “Igloo” which the group will perform right after the interview session is over. The MC takes the opportunity to congratulate the girls who are getting ready to go on a world tour, a first since their debut. The first date is in just eleven days, in Seoul. With the comeback today, the singers are very impatient to start this end of the year which has lots of projects and no doubt surprises in store for them. Above all, they are delighted to be able to meet their fans, all over the world.
When asked what more specific ideas they have about the freedom and immersive side of this comeback, BELLE describes that being able to stand on stage and perform represents a form of freedom, while immersing oneself in the music to give the best performance. HANEUL completes by talking more about the music video, and especially the involvement of the foreign dancers appearing in it. This teamwork allowed her to immerse herself in the preparation of this mini-album, and to soak up its atmosphere.
JULIE talks about immersion as being the act of absorbing the very essence of a song, an album, a dance or a concept, and making it one’s own so that the final result is a reflection of the person who prepared it. She takes the opportunity to thank the people who worked on this album, who made it possible to integrate songs of various styles into “LOSE YOURSELF“. This is the strength of the group according to BELLE, this diversity allowing to highlight each member thanks to songs that are both different but complementary. The goal of the group is to prove that it can touch on any genre, while giving it the color of KISS OF LIFE.
A journalist points out the lack of foreign language lyrics in the group’s songs, to which JULIE responds that choreographies also convey a message through body language that can convey ideas, such as the passage in “Get loud” presented by NATTY earlier. The MC points out the group’s explosive schedule, which has been constantly releasing songs and participating in festivals since its debut. For the youngest of the group, HANEUL, every opportunity is good to meet their fans, and they are very grateful to have been able to participate in Waterbomb this summer.

Finally, they talk about some of the moments that have stood out to them this year. BELLE starts by mentioning the times she has heard fans chanting in support of the group, while NATTY expresses that she has been touched to discover many covers of the choreography of their summer hit “Sticky” all over the world. Ending the Q&A session, the group briefly leaves the stage so that a video medley can be played. KISS OF LIFE then comes back up, performing the song “Igloo” to close the showcase.
