PSY
It was belatedly revealed that singer PSY‘s Hannam-dong villa was seized and then returned due to arrears in payments and an unauthorized extension.

PSY explained through his agency that he was not aware that the extension was unauthorized at the time the villa was built, and that he was not aware of the delay in paying bills.
According to the music industry, as of November 26, PSY had failed to pay the enforcement penalties imposed on his own villa in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for violating the construction law, with the change to an unauthorized extension.
The Yongsan-gu office seized the house in May this year, and it was lifted after PSY paid a mandatory enforcement fee last month.
In this regard, PSY’s agency PNATION stated, “The mandatory enforcement fee was only present due to a delay in verifying the payment of bills, and it is currently being paid in full.“
Furthermore, PSY had claimed that there was no change of use or illegal extension in the process of actually living in the house.
“PSY had received a new house when he moved in in 2007 and lived there for over 17 years. Since then, complaints have been filed and we have acknowledged that there was an illegal extension of the building at the time of initial construction,” PNATION said.
The agency added, “PSY is preparing to recruit construction companies in collaboration with the owner of the villa to correct the illegal extension.”
