JYP Entertainment has postponed the release schedule of debut album project KICKFLIP.

JYP Entertainment stated today that the content of “KICKFLIP,” which was scheduled to be released at midnight on January 1, 2025, has been postponed, adding that the content will be released at midnight on January 6. “We express our deepest condolences for the news of this tragic accident.”
“KICKFLIP” is a seven-member rookie boy group that JYP Entertainment will introduce in 2025. The group’s name is derived from the term skateboarding, which refers to the technique of rotating the board 360 degrees with the tips of the toes.
Earlier, at 9:07 a.m. on the 29th, Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, carrying 181 passengers, crashed while attempting to land on the runway at Muan International Airport, killing 179 people. The plane crashed into facilities around the runway, causing many casualties as it was engulfed in flames.
Probation authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash by recovering all but two survivors among the 181 passengers, and securing some of the plane’s black boxes.
The government has declared a national mourning period until January 4 and has decided to set up joint memorial altars at the Muan airport site and in 17 cities and provinces across the country, while all ministries, local governments and public institutions will raise the flag.
