HYUNGWON
Successfully wrapping up his first unit performance after military service

HYUNGWON, a member of MONSTA X, has successfully completed his first unit performance since being discharged from the military.
On May 31, HYUNGWON shared two photos on MONSTA X’s official account, along with the message:
“Kaohsiung Monbebe, it made me so happy to see you again after all this time. Let’s meet again soon!“
In the photos, HYUNGWON’s princely visuals—despite his time away—drew admiration from fans, making it easy to forget his long hiatus due to military service. That day, he took the stage at ‘KT POP’ in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, performing alongside MONSTA X leader SHOWNU as the unit ShownuXHyungwon. The duo originally made their unit debut in July 2023 with the release of their first album “THE UNSEEN.”
This performance was especially meaningful as it marked HYUNGWON’s first on-stage appearance since completing his 18-month mandatory military service, which began on November 14, 2023, and officially ended on May 13, 2025.

Just four days later, on May 17, HYUNGWON held a free fan event titled “Hyungwon’s Greenhouse (Wonder Garden)” to celebrate his return with MONBEBE (the official name of MONSTA X’s fandom), reaffirming the deep, mutual love between him and his fans.
On May 29, he also appeared at the 2025 ASIA STAR ENTERTAINER AWARDS (ASEA 2025) held at K-Arena Yokohama in Japan, where he received praise for his impressive performance as an MC during the four-hour ceremony.
Now actively resuming his career, HYUNGWON is gaining attention for his future endeavors in music, hosting, and entertainment.
Meanwhile, MONSTA X is scheduled to hold a full-group concert titled “CONNECT X” from July 18 to 20 at the KSPO Dome (formerly Olympic Gymnastics Arena) in Seoul.
Ahead of that, a free anniversary exhibition titled “MONologue” is being held through June 11 in Hapjeong, Mapo District, Seoul, to celebrate the group’s 10th debut anniversary.
