A special screening with LEE DAE HWI.

On the evening of June 5, LEE DAE HWI of the group AB6IX, who lent his voice to the character Hiccup, attended a special fan screening of the film “Dragons” (Korean title: 드래곤 길들이기) held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall. There, he had the opportunity to meet fans ahead of the film’s official release and create meaningful memories with them.
The film “Dragons” tells the story of Hiccup (known as Harold in French), a young boy whose appearance and personality don’t align with typical Viking standards, and Toothless, a mysterious legendary dragon. Together, they overcome discrimination and prejudice to build a unique friendship that changes the world. The original animated film captivated audiences around the world with its strong storyline, colorful characters, stunning visuals, and heartfelt message.
With this live-action adaptation, “Dragons” promises an even more spectacular and immersive experience, raising high expectations. News of LEE DAE HWI voicing the lead role only fueled fan excitement even more before the release.
At the event, LEE DAE HWI greeted the audience and shared his thoughts:
“Doing the dubbing was really challenging—it gave me a newfound respect for voice actors.”
He added with a smile, “I haven’t even seen the full film myself yet, so it feels a bit awkward that the fans are seeing it before me. But I heard the result is good, so that’s a relief.”

He also took part in a Q&A session, a photo time, and handed out gifts to the audience, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the recording process and what led to his casting. The evening concluded with a group photo with fans who filled the theater, making it a memorable event for everyone.
Meanwhile, the film Dragons, featuring LEE DAE HWI’s voice performance, has been screening in theaters across South Korea since its release on June 6. LEE DAE HWI is also set to continue his activities with AB6IX’s fan concert “BE:6IX”, which will be held on June 14 and 15 at the Universal Arts Center.
