A powerful collaboration between main vocalists, true masters of vocal color, has taken place.

Production company Donuts Culture announced that the global remake project song “오래된 노래 (Old Song),” featuring KEN (VIXX), YOUNGJAE (GOT7), HUI (PENTAGON), and CHOI SANGYEOP (LUCY), will be released today (June 29) at 6 PM KST on all music streaming platforms.
Donuts Culture‘s global remake project aims to introduce Korean music to different countries, connecting people through the universal emotion of music. The project breathes new life into existing tracks while bridging cultures through sound and sentiment.
The first song selected for this project is “오래된 노래,” an emotional ballad by the leading acoustic indie group Standing Egg. Known for its warm melody and heartfelt lyrics, the song regained popularity in 2023 when a remake version was performed by Huh Gak, Lim Hanbyul, Lee Mujin, Lee Jinseong (Monday Kiz), Kim Heejae, and #안녕 on the SBS music variety show “The Listen: The Time We Were Together.”
For the launch of the remake project, four prominent main vocalists have come together:
-
KEN (VIXX): with his clear and expressive voice,
-
YOUNGJAE (GOT7): known for his smooth and refined tone,
-
HUI (PENTAGON): offering a sweet voice filled with sensitivity,
-
CHOI SANGYEOP (LUCY): bringing powerful and uniquely textured vocals.
Their harmonious reinterpretation of “오래된 노래” preserves the original’s lyrical melody while adding a rich, modern J-POP–style orchestration. The track begins with striking guitar sounds and gradually builds into a dramatic progression, elevated by beautiful string arrangements.
The global remake project will begin in Korea and later expand to include collaborations with artists from other countries.
Alongside the song’s release, a cinematic music video will also be unveiled. Filmed in the quiet, picturesque region of Yamanashi, Japan, the video captures tender memories of a couple—sitting side by side sharing one earbud, riding bikes together, falling asleep on each other’s shoulder, holding hands on a walk—and finally, an emotional reunion years later. These scenes, shifting between past and present, beautifully match the song’s lyrics and sentiment.
Additionally, a special version of the music video, in collaboration with the Japanese film “366 Days,” will be released simultaneously. Directed by Shinjō Takehiko, best known for Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru, and starring Eiji Akaso and Moka Kamishiraishi, the film was a breakout success at the Japanese box office. Its poignant love story, set between Okinawa and Tokyo, blends stunning visuals with the song’s lyrics and melody, enhancing its emotional resonance.
The remake of “오래된 노래” by KEN, YOUNGJAE, HUI, and CHOI SANGYEOP, marking the launch of the global remake project, is available today (June 29) at 6 PM KST on all music platforms.
