The original soundtrack for “KPOP DEMON HUNTERS”, titled “Golden”, has reached the No. 1 spot on the UK charts, a historic milestone for K-pop not seen since Psy’s “Gangnam style” in 2012, thirteen years ago.

On August 1 (local time), “Golden” climbed three spots to take the top position on the UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 100, during its sixth week after release. The Official Charts Company announced:
“KPOP DEMON HUNTERS takes over! Golden by HUNTR/X becomes the first K-pop track to hit No. 1 in 13 years.”
They continued:
“As Golden by HUNTR/X becomes the first K-pop No. 1 in over a decade, Netflix’s breakout hit KPOP DEMON HUNTERS dominates this week’s Official Chart. The last time a K-pop artist topped the Official Singles Chart was back in 2012, when Psy made history with Gangnam Style, the first-ever K-pop No. 1 in the UK.”
The UK’s Official Singles Chart is considered one of the two leading music charts worldwide, alongside the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
