BTS has added another song to its list of tracks with over 1 billion streams on Spotify.

The title track “Fake Love” from their third studio album, “LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’”, released in May 2018, has surpassed 1 billion cumulative streams on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform (as of August 24). This marks the fifth BTS group track to reach the billion-stream mark.
“Fake love” is an emo hip-hop song that combines grunge rock guitar sounds with a groovy trap beat. The lyrics explore the pain of realizing that a love once believed to be destiny was, in fact, a lie. With its dark and emotional tone, the song resonated globally and received widespread acclaim.
Upon release, “Fake love” debuted at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and #42 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 100. The album it appears on, “LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’,” became the first album by a Korean artist to top the Billboard 200, the main albums chart in the U.S., marking a major milestone for K-pop on the global stage.
According to Spotify data as of August 24, JUNGKOOK has also added a new song to the billion-stream club. His solo single “3D (feat. Jack Harlow),” released in September 2023, has now surpassed 1 billion streams.
This brings Jungkook’s total number of songs with over 1 billion streams to four, including:
-
“Seven” (feat. Latto)
-
“Standing next to you”
-
“Left and right” (with Charlie Puth)
-
“3D” (feat. Jack Harlow)
This sets the record for the most billion-stream songs by a K-pop solo artist.
“3D” is an R&B pop track with an old-school sound inspired by 2000s hip-hop and dance music. JUNGKOOK brings his own style to the song, which expresses a desire to meet someone in “three dimensions” and always remain together as “us.”
Meanwhile, BTS has surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify with “Dynamite.” Other group songs, including “My universe,” “Butter,” “Boy with luv (feat. Halsey),” and now “Fake love,” have each exceeded 1 billion streams. In total, BTS has 127 group tracks with over 100 million streams.
