A record has been blown out of the water.

The music video for “Dynamite,” the digital single released simultaneously worldwide by HYBE via the HYBE Labels YouTube channel on August 21, 2020, surpassed 2 billion views on YouTube on September 4 at around 9:16 AM. This is BTS’s first music video to cross the 2 billion view mark. The video had reached 1.9 billion views last December and gained an additional 100 million views in roughly nine months.
“Dynamite” is a bright and catchy disco-pop song, considered a comforting track. It is also BTS’s first-ever English-language song. The music video combines an addictive rhythm with a joyful and dynamic performance. Built around a vibrant and optimistic concept, it features a harmonious blend of scenes showing the members enjoying music lightheartedly alongside energetic choreography.
The song recently ranked 34th on Apple Music’s list of the most-streamed songs worldwide over the past ten years.
With this hit, BTS became the first Korean artist to top the main Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, holding the position for three consecutive weeks. They also won the “Best Song” award at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards and the “Top Selling Song” award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Finally, they received a Diamond certification for streaming (over 500 million plays) from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) in record time.
