The special sub-unit of SEVENTEEN, S.COUPS X MINGYU, brought the hype from their first mini-album “HYPE VIBES” to life.
On October 5, S.COUPS X MINGYU held a fan party titled “VIBE ALIVE: Chill Moments” at the main auditorium of Seoul Women’s University (Nowon District) to celebrate the release of their first mini-album “HYPE VIBES”, igniting excitement around their new project. The event, themed around bringing the fiery and free atmosphere of the album into reality, featured live performances and discussion segments.
From the start, the duo’s relaxed and free energy filled the room. They performed their lead single “5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)” while moving through the audience. Every time they exchanged high-fives with fans, enthusiastic cheers erupted throughout the venue.
During the discussion segment, SEUNGKWAN appeared as a surprise MC, showcasing the strong camaraderie within the group. He said:
“We can feel all the work and passion invested in “HYPE VIBES”. Even I, who have known them for over ten years, was impressed by the album’s quality and musicality. I was so proud of them that I wanted to participate by hosting this fan-party.”
Having led the production of the mini-album from start to finish, S.COUPS X MINGYU shared behind-the-scenes stories about creating the record: “We couldn’t give up on our ambitions for this album. Even if we might regret it later, we wanted to trust ourselves and follow our own choices. Every moment of the production was rich and exciting.”
Fans also enjoyed several interactive segments, including CARAT POLL (predicting favorite songs in different situations), CARAT INSIDE (testing fans’ emotions), and ASK & ANSWER (live Q&A sessions), all inspired by the concept of a news journal.
At the end of the fan-party, the songs “For you” and “Fiesta”, both from “HYPE VIBES”, were performed live for the first time. The duo moved into the crowd to get closer to fans, who responded with powerful chants and standing ovations, creating a moment of intense connection. S.COUPS X MINGYU concluded: “Our activities are not over. Keep enjoying the many upcoming contents!” sparking another wave of excitement.
Since the release of “HYPE VIBES” on September 29, the duo has achieved tremendous success in Korea and internationally. The album immediately reached first place on Hanteo Chart’s daily ranking and broke the first-week sales record for a K-pop unit album in just four days. It also ranked number 1 on Oricon’s “Daily Album Ranking” in Japan and topped both the daily and weekly EP rankings on the Chinese platform “Digital Bestseller Album”.
SEVENTEEN’s activities continue: the group will start their U.S. tour “SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] IN U.S.” on October 11 at Tacoma Dome, then move to BMO Stadium in Los Angeles (October 16–17), Moody Center in Austin (October 21–22), Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise (October 26–27), and finally Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. (October 29–30).
