On November 3, WAKEONE announced the appointment of Nam So Young as the new General Director in charge of K-pop artist activities internationally. This decision aims to strengthen WAKEONE’s management capabilities by creating an optimized production environment and systems tailored to each artist.
Nam So Young, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, brings extensive experience in artist management and international market development. She began her career with the creation of SM Japan, oversaw artist management at SM Entertainment, held various executive positions within its subsidiaries, and served as General Director of SM Entertainment. Known as a hands-on training manager, she is recognized as one of the first female leaders in K-pop, contributing significantly to the globalization of the industry by successfully placing numerous artists on the international stage.
Under her leadership, WAKEONE is restructuring its system into two centers to precisely support the growth and uniqueness of its artists:

Center 1 will focus on 5th-generation group ZEROBASEONE and international rookie IZNA, supporting both domestic and global activities.

Center 2 will support the development and success of the new mega-group from Mnet Boys 2 Planet, ALPHA DRIVE ONE (ALD1), while preparing the creation of a specialized label for solo artists such as Kim Feel, Ha Hyun Sang, Jo Yuri, Kim Jaehwan, and developing new talent.
WAKEONE stated that under Nam So Young’s leadership, the company will provide a production environment designed to maximize each artist’s creativity and potential, while implementing tailored strategies to enhance the company’s overall competitiveness.
