KIM JUN YOUNG
Reactions lead to his withdrawal from ongoing activities.

Musical actor KIM JUN YOUNG will be withdrawing from all current and upcoming productions following negative public reactions to a social media post that sparked allegations he had visited an adult entertainment establishment, his agency and production company HJ CULTURE announced Monday.
“We sincerely apologize for causing concern to audiences and colleagues in the industry due to the situation involving our artist KIM JUN YOUNG. Since the actor was participating in multiple productions, we had to carefully coordinate with each production company and related staff. We apologize once again for the delay in announcing a final decision,” the agency stated in a message posted to its official Instagram account on Monday.
“We were taking appropriate steps to show our sense of responsibility to those who trust and support us, but we failed to provide timely updates and clear communication. We deeply apologize for the disappointment this has caused.”
The controversy began when KIM JUN YOUNG posted, then deleted, a restaurant receipt on social media. The receipt contained a woman’s name and payment details, which led to speculation that he had visited an adult entertainment venue.
HJ CULTURE initially denied any wrongdoing.
“We wish to clarify that the actor has not engaged in any illegal activity. The allegations circulating online are false. We ask the public to refrain from spreading unfounded speculation, unverified information, or excessive interpretations. We will consider legal action against the dissemination of malicious false information or defamation,” the agency stated.
However, only ten hours after releasing that statement, the company reversed its position and announced KIM JUN YOUNG’s withdrawal from all projects, which in turn fueled negative reactions online.
Comments included: “What a quick turnaround,” “Weren’t you the ones saying he did nothing wrong?” and “You should reimburse the production for the cancellation penalties.”
KIM JUN YOUNG made his musical debut in “Singin’ in the Rain” in 2018 and has appeared in the musical “Rachmaninoff” as well as the play “Amadeus.” He had also been cast in the upcoming musicals “Eternity” and “Meet John Doe.”
