The Supreme Court announced on November 10 that it had organized in the grand auditorium of its Seocho-dong headquarters in Seoul the “FORMATION 2025 ON DISABILITY AWARENESS” for judges and judicial staff.

This training consisted of a lecture given by the agency specializing in disabled artists PARASTAR ENTERTAINMENT (represented by CHA HAERI) and by the lawyer specializing in disability rights YEOM HYUNGGUK.
During the lecture, the representative CHA HAERI stated:
“Disability is not a limitation but another language of expression, and we can lower social barriers through culture and the arts. Creating stages where disabled artists can stand autonomously is the true beginning of inclusion.”
The lawyer YEOM HYUNGGUK also mentioned the unanimous decision of the 2024 Supreme Court, recognizing for the first time the right of access for disabled people as a fundamental right, highlighting the importance and efforts of the Court for a dignified life for disabled people.
The Supreme Court enriched this disability awareness training with an art exhibition created by disabled individuals and a performance by the world’s first hard-of-hearing idol group, BIG OCEAN.
The art exhibition, organized by the Court Administration Service and supervised by the Association of Arts for Disabled People, is held from October 27 to November 28 on the first floor of the Supreme Court main building. Titled “OUR VIEW, ONE HEART”, this exhibition presents works by artists with various types of disabilities.
The group BIG OCEAN, responsible for the performance, presented that day a show using Korean Sign Language, American Sign Language, and International Sign Language, as the world’s first hard-of-hearing idols.
The Supreme Court stated in its press release: “We will continue to implement and promote policies aimed at fully ensuring disability awareness and the protection of the rights of disabled people.”
