A YouTuber known as SOJANG, who earned hundreds of millions of won by posting false videos defaming celebrities, including JANG WON YOUNG of IVE, has filed a supreme court appeal after losing her case in the appellate court.

The lawyer representing the content creator filed the appeal with the Incheon District Court on Friday, contesting the appellate decision on charges including defamation and insults under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
The YouTuber claims that the sentence is too severe and that the restitution order is unjustified.
During the appeal trial, she received the same sentence as in the first instance: two years in prison with a three-year suspended sentence, as well as confiscation of 210 million won (approximately 130,000 euros).
Between October 2021 and June 2023, she uploaded 23 videos on YouTube defaming seven celebrities and influencers. The videos spread false allegations such as “Jang Won Young sabotaged another trainee’s debut out of jealousy” and “other celebrities engaged in prostitution or underwent cosmetic surgery.” She reportedly earned 250 million won from this content.
She also faces accusations of insulting two other members of female idol groups for posting videos mocking their appearance.
