Singer HWASA shared her thoughts after becoming the first number one on the new Billboard Korea Hot100 chart.
HWASA reached first place with her new track “Good goodbye” on the freshly published chart by Billboard and Billboard Korea. She said via Billboard:
“It’s an honor to be the first to reach number one on the new chart created by Billboard. Everything that is ‘first’ always has a special meaning. I am grateful.”
Regarding the reaction to her song, she added “I had said that I wanted this song to bring comfort to someone, and I believe that wish has come true. That is what makes me happiest.”
“Good goodbye” is enjoying global success, remaining at number one for two consecutive weeks on the Billboard Korea Hot100 and the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. Furthermore, after debuting at 43rd place on the Billboard Global 200 last week, the song climbed 11 spots to reach 32nd position.
The trend is also rising in Korea. In week 49 of the Circle Chart (Nov. 30 to Dec. 6, 2025), HWASA dominated six categories, digital, streaming, and BGM, for the second consecutive week with “Good goodbye”.
Following strong-character tracks such as “I love my body”, “NA”, and “Good goodbye”, HWASA continues an active career and keeps setting significant records on global charts.
