YOOK SUNG JAE
YOOK SUNG JAE of the group BTOB was selected as the Kpop artist for “Which K-pop artist looks like a cooking genius who would prepare their own first meal of the New Year?” according to the fan voting platform Picnic.
In an online poll organized by the Kpop-themed voting platform, held from December 5 to 19, 2025, and participated in by fans from 175 countries, YOOK SUNG JAE received 17,144 votes. He was followed by Eunho of PLAVE, who received 17,051 votes, and Jungkook of BTS, who received 1,508 votes.
According to Picnic, fans chose the artist they believed would personally prepare the first meal of the New Year, based on a combination of actual cooking skills, daily image, and lifestyle.
YOOK SUNG JAE appeared on a show roughly translated as “Idol Cooking King” (2016), broadcast on MBC during the Chuseok holidays that year, to demonstrate his culinary talents. He also starred in the SBS historical drama “The Haunted Palace” (2025) and released his EP album “ALL ABOUT BLUE” in June of last year.
In collaboration with Korea JoongAng Daily, Picnic organizes weekly votes on various topics related to Kpop stars.
