SHINJI, MOONONE
The coed K-pop group KOYOTE sees SHINJI marrying singer MOONONE in May, despite public criticism regarding her fiancé’s alleged past.

“I sincerely thank everyone who has supported me […] consistently over the past 27 years, and I wish to officially announce one of the most important decisions of my life: my marriage,” wrote SHINJI in a handwritten letter published on Instagram this Monday.
“Over the time we have spent together, [the bond between my fiancé and me] has strengthened, and our mutual trust has deepened. I am grateful to have someone who is completely by my side. […] We have grown even stronger together.”
SHINJI had revealed her relationship with MOONONE last June.
Public concern first arose after the singer disclosed that he is divorced and has a child with his ex-wife during an appearance on SHINJI’s YouTube channel, then intensified following the online circulation of testimonies regarding his alleged infidelity, bullying, and fraud.
In response, SHINJI stated that she and her agency had verified the allegations and confirmed that they were not true. She added that she would take legal action against the dissemination of false information and acts of defamation.
“I am well aware of the many caring concerns […] regarding our relationship. I will not forget them, and we will continue to move forward step by step with confidence,” said SHINJI.
SHINJI is a member of the dance music trio KOYOTE. The group, which debuted in 1998, is one of the oldest mixed-gender groups in Korea. They are known for “Pure love” (1998), “Sad dream” (2002), “Sadness” (2003), “Jump, jump, jump” (2010), and other tracks.
