Singer DAWN shared that he has recently taken a step back from fashion.
On February 10, a video titled “공효진이 만났던 던 (Gong Hyo-jin meets DAWN)” was released on the YouTube channel “당분간 공효진.”
In the video, Gong Hyo-jin visits DAWN at his home and has an honest conversation with him while exploring his living space.
During their talk, DAWN drew attention by discussing how his relationship with fashion has evolved. He said, “These days, I’ve eased up a bit on fashion.”
He explained:
“Back when I was really into fashion, I mainly looked at very extravagant styles. I kept searching for clothes that no one else wore and that others absolutely couldn’t imitate. But at some point, I realized that I wasn’t really that kind of person and that I was pretending. So I decided to look inside myself, and naturally I stopped buying clothes.”
He added, “Right now, I spend a lot of time focusing on my home and my hobbies. These days, I only wear one type of outfit. There was a time when I wore the same clothes for two years. It’s much more comfortable.”
He also shared, “Before, I really wore everything. I even wore skirts and had thigh-high boots custom made.”
In response, Gong Hyo-jin said, “There are times when you’re full of energy and moments when people don’t leave you alone. I’ve had periods where I held myself back a lot because of how others looked at me, and times when I immersed myself in searching for my own color. Now, when I think about it, I tell my juniors to do whatever they want. We worry too much about how others might judge us.”
DAWN debuted in 2016 as a member of PENTAGON. After meeting HyunA at their former agency Cube Entertainment and beginning a relationship with her, he left Cube in 2018 to join AT AREA alongside her. The couple separated in 2022, and DAWN has recently chosen to move toward a different agency from the one where HyunA remains signed.
